Mister Universe Model 2011 FINALS

So another year of MUM has past. This year was much more difficult to predict with no frontrunners nor did there seem to be a leading pack so I saw a lot of varying Top 15s listed everywhere. The final 5 weren't too my taste but I was generally happy for them, so here are the Top 5.

Slovenia 5th, Luxembourg 3rd, Venezuela Winner, Dominican Republic 2nd, Bolivia 4th

Slovenia has always been a shock to me, he's not a bad candidate but I never understood the love for him. I placed him 24th. Bolivia was a decent candidate he placed 7th for me. Luxembourg was a favourite I think for the crown, I placed him 9th. Dominican Republic was a shock, I didn't expect the organisation to like him so much, he came 23rd for me. Venezuela was probably one of the frontrunners for the title because MUM values his type, he came 8th for me.

So none of my top 5 made it! Which were Portugal (8th), Belgium (25th!), Chile (9th), Ukraine (10th) and Serbia (7th) - boo at 4 of my Top 5 only making the Top 10!

It seems the scoring was based on the preliminaries until the Top 5, that's where I realised how the organisation screwed over Serbia and South Africa. Serbia was at 4th place after the three preliminary segments but scored lowly with the organisation so came 7th overall. I was shocked the organisation didn't like him that much because he was taking a lot of pictures with them. Dominican Republic was there favourite :S Instead Bolivia replaced Serbia in the Top 5. I don't understand why they didn't like Belgium though, he was my pre contest favourite.

However good job to Serbia for scoring 1st on the interview round, only his swimsuit let him down - but he was still 12th in that.

However I don't get how the average scores for each round were done because I tabulated the scores from each judge and none of them seemed to fit with the overall segment scores, unless one judge had more of a say or something. But the organisation didn't change any of the Top 5, they just moved them around a bit.

So from my rankings I got 11 out of 15, a good job I think. However the judges didn't see what I saw in Colombia and placed him 39th! France only got 23rd, Denmark just missed out at 17th whilst Belgium only made 25th!

Overall sadly I don't agree with the judges this year as much as I did with Tarik, Leo, Edgar and Tuur last year. I think MUM focuses too much on body beauty sometimes. I think Milos should go to one of the other pageants as he'll probably do much better there than at MUM.

Mister Universe Model 2011 (14/05/11 Update) Final Ranking

The final is tonight, I believe, so here's a rundown on each guys scores. I have awarded scores in 4 categories; Physique, Look, Smile and Sexiness - a little different from last year. Personally I think I've been a bit more lenient but all scores are relative so you won't see huge huge score differences.

He has some great angles but he also has some weak angles, he's a decent contestant but he doesn't stand out.

Mister Universe Model 2011: Belgium (Sonny Wouters)

You may think I'm incredibly biased but I do love Sonny! He's just so adorable and sweet. His smile makes him so irresistible and he has the right mix of cuteness and masculinity in his face.

Mister Universe Model 2011: Bolivia (Nelson Gutiérrez)

It's rather difficult to pinpoint what makes Bolivia so desirable, I think it's a combination of a slamming body, mesmerising eyes, wavy teenage hair and just a sultry latina vibe! He's just so sexy whenever you see his photos.

Mister Universe Model 2011: Brazil (Roque Junior)

I find Roque a bit hit or miss, that's why he's never been part of my Top 10. The above three pics are the best photos of him, imo, and he looks gorgeous but he also has a lot of shots where he looks tired and where his face is a bit chubby.

Mister Universe Model 2011: Chile (Danilo Rodríguez)

At first I had my reservations but not I fully embrace this hunk! He's the embodiment of boyish fun mixed with masculine charm. He has the body, the charisma, the smile - he's a triple threat. I just hoped his nose was a bit smaller :S

This guy is like a Colombian casanova, he has these smouldering eyes and a very ample chest! He's sexy and hot but he's slightly too cool for me.

To be blunt he's rather forgettable but he's decent and has a nice smile. (smile hag alert)

Mister Universe Model 2011: Denmark (Morten Krogh Jeppesen)

Denmark is slightly frustrating. He is gorgeous, especially when he smiles but he looks so stupid when he tries to look sexy, he looks more like a sulking child when he puts on his sexy face or Zoolander face! Honestly!

Mister Universe Model 2011: Dominican Republic (Antonio Duarte)

Sadly my affair with Antonio only lasted one day, my love for him went as quickly as it came. He just didn't impress me enough to challenge my Top 10.

Mister Universe Model 2011: Ecuador (Sergio Isaac Lópes)

If it weren't for his smile I think Sergio would be targeting a Top 5 position. He's just gorgeous but then he has this very awkward smile where he seems to be biting his bottom lip totally.

Mister Universe Model 2011: El Salvador (Kerim Handal)

El Salvador isn't ready to compete yet. He isn't fat, he's just a little chubby which is fine anywhere else but in pageantry you need to be toned. However he has a lovely smile and looks like he is very energetic and charming.

Mister Universe Model 2011: France (Jordan Haag)

I am slightly disappointed by Jordan but he's still gorgeous, his body isn't bad - he's just really lanky. The only problem at the moment is his nose, which looks slightly busted.
